Regular forks are sooo easy to rebuild, but you need to be careful when you slip the seal over the fork tube, the sharp edges can damage the lip and take the seal down.
Worst story is a shop in Victoriaville, some genius managed to hit the tube with a welder, the spot quickly destroyed the seal, I guess he was trying to remove the steering bearing race by shrinking it with a welder and a blind helmet...and denied it.
I would go back and beat the crap out of the guy with the damn fork leg
