Depending on your riding style, you might want to consider a Tiger 1050. It doesnt come with the hard cases but is a much more comfortable bike, probably with a bit more low-mid range torque but with less top end hp. I have a 2008 and have done over 750km in a day on it, going up to Rimouski in April... The biggest drawback is that it's made for tall riders... but its an amazing bike to ride and will have no problem keeping up with your sport bike buddies in the twisties...unless maybe they're gp boys...
and btw, even on the Tiger you get hot air when the fan runs on the right side. A bit anoying but not big enough a reason to not consider one of the new 1050's..
