track boots

Looking into purchasing a pair of boots for the road/track. I'm going to Fast riding school in june (NO.1) and will like to do some track days hopefully this year if not, next year; however, i would still like to purchase a pair of moto boots. i'm looking into buying smx4 boots. Are these boots sufficient for future track days? They seem to be protective and within my budget.

Just curious to know what some of you guys are riding with. I've found a lot of people riding with smx plus boots; however they are out of my budget. Will these boots be sufficient in a protective way? These boots aren't the most expensvie (and i know u get what u paid for) but are they still fine?

Yes they will be fine for track days...... probably protect you better then all out race boots from just a few years ago.....

Definitely a good pair of boots...if you get the price you want to pay for, go for it!
I have a pair of Sidi's but they are hard to find ( I was lucky to find a pair at a really good price so that's why I got them ) and also, I don't like to buy what everybody buys...

I second the motion for the SMX4. I own a predecessor model to these. A-stars boots are usually pretty good for the price and quite comfortable. I have no reason to doubt their protective qualities.

You don't need your own stuff for Fast; they have equipment that they lend you as part of their package pricing. They use Joe Rocket stuff. You may want to try these on for comparison before making your purchase.

i was looking online for joe rocket boots, but didn't find anything that even appeals to me. I went to monette and chicione sports in the west. not many people seem to carry too many choices, but these ones feel really comfortable. For fast, i'm using their stuff..i just wanted some boots before hand to get some for the road too. i was even looking for a higher up model from astars but the price jump is way out of my reach and these seem to provide enough protection for a few years.
