Which year is the best/nicest/quality?
I personally LOVE the '05 in black with the nice decals, the 04's arent bad and so are the 03'
so gimme your opinions oh and i have never owned a bike, i'm buying new, good? well i think so with all these people reaching the cut-out on the rpm with their bikes, which i find retarded, thanks

600RR brand new, is far from being the best first bike. You have to keep in mind that since i'll be your first bike, you will probably drop it, this is hart breaking when you spent 12000$ for it.

Also any 600RR, R6, 636, GSXR 600 are pretty nervous and they don't realy forgive beginner's mistakes.

IMO you should start with a 600 like 599, ZZR600, SV650... and I wouln't spend too much $$ in case you drop the bike. This is the best way to get use to motorcycle driving.

But it's your decision. I first started with a ZX-6E 1992, big, heavy, very forgiving. Had it for 2 years and then I was ready for my GSXR 750!

Well this is my first season riding and I bought an 04 600RR (red & black) and in my opinion this is my favourite year. I like the 05 black but I can't stand the flames, it's tacky. As for the 05 red and black I don't like how the tail is red, on mine the tail is black and it has a stealth feeling to it. You know that's the great thing about bikes, they change so you can buy the one you like and modify them to your taste.

This can be a good starter bike all depending on YOU. I know people that get on it and think they are invincible. I just hit 6000 kms and I'm still taking my time to learn the bike. I'm not the type to do wheelies, doesn't interest me.

You know yourself, this is a pretty intense bike but if you can keep it cool you should be fine.

I think you can start with a R6, RR, 6R, etc but you need to be intelligent enough to not do stupid things.

But even buying one of those I'd get an older bike so you pay less insurance and it hurts less if you drop it

Well if you want "NEW" like you say then the solution is easy...buy an 05

Also, if you think taking the engine to the cut-off is retarded, you might reconsider your choice of a 600 supersport machine as your bike of choice, first bike or not...

i wont be a crazy mofo like i see on the roads, i just want a really nice sports bike, with lots of potential and power, so that i can re-sell better and if i need the power its there, and i just love the RR version of the CBR, its just so...............perfect :P
