Mon premier accident de moto...

J'ai juste eu mon premier accident de moto et j'ai voulu partager mon expérience avec vous. NOTE: Excuser mon français, traducteur de Google!

J'étais de retour vers la maison apres une équitation impressionnante dans la région de Mont Tremblant avec quelques nouveaux amis. Il était ce qui a été considéré un RS (ride sportive) et même marqué comme un RE (ride extreme) pour beaucoup de gens. Les courbes étaient abondantes et l'amusement était indescriptible. Le jour a semblé finir tres vitependant que nous faisions les routes à plusieurs reprises encore, pratiquement "kneedragging" a chaque courbe. Néanmoins, le jour a dû finir autrefois car j'ai eu le travail plus tard et nous devions cesser de reposer une certaine heure.

Nous avons décidé de prendre un de deux routes vers Montreal… évidemment que nous avons choisi la manière le plus fun avec plus de courbes. Je suivais un ami le long d'une route de campagne intéressante et nous nous déplacions à la vitesse étonnamment légale. Je devine par cette période du jour où nous avions épuisé la majeure partie de notre énergie. Car nous sommes descendus une petite colline, il y avait un fourgon se déplaçant à un taux plus lent que nous étions. Le chef passé le fourgon dans un maneuvre et j'ai suivi son exemple. La colline a lentement commencé à incliner vers le haut et j'ai entrepris ma démarche de retourner à la voie que j'étais. Pendant que je revenais dans la voie faisant face à une direction légèrement vers l'épaule de la route, la colline est venue à une crête et il y avait un virage à gauche soudain. En ce moment, le nez de ma moto faisait face à l'épaule et j'ai essayé de changer abruptement la direction pour revenir sur la voie. J'ai eu peu de temps pour réagir et ai pu avoir tendu les muscle (froze). J'ai vu le gravier du côté de la route suivie de l'herbe grande et envahie, et finalement d'un secteur boisé environ 30 pieds ensuite cela. J'ai pris une décision pour essayer de la ralentir dans l'herbe et le plus mauvais cas, dans la forêt. Le puits comme chance l'aurait, le ralentissement dans l'herbe était impossible et se dirige directement pour la forêt. J'ai sélectionné ma direction générale entre deux arbres moyens et ai espéré le meilleur. Trop le mauvais mes espoirs n'est pas venu vrai…

Pendant que j'obtenais au secteur couvert de forêts, le terrain a laissé tomber 10 pieds de bas droit. À environ 60km/h, cela signifié que j'ai continué sur mon chemin entre les airs. Celui qui a dit qu'une moto sport ne pourrait pas aller au hors-route était erroné ! Je suis passé par deux arbres de pin dans les airs et alors claqués dans le sol sur les deux roues. Naturellement, l'impact a envoyé ma suspension au fond qui a par conséquent rebondi avec la même force. En ce moment, j'ai été éjecté du siège et trouvé en vol. Quand j'ai frappé la terre, l'instinct m'a eu roulement à plusieurs reprises et un point, j'ai regardé vers le haut et ai vu la moto directement au-dessus de moi. J'ai pensé que j'allais etre écrasé. Dans peu plus qu'un clignotement d'un oeil, il était fini et je regardais vers le bas la terre sur mes mains et genoux. Lentement, j'ai fait ma manière à mes pieds et me suis rendu compte que j'étais dans la forme assez bonne. Je pouvais marcher, je n'ai pas senti la douleur n'importe où sur mon corps supérieur mais ma jambe faissait mal. Regardant vers le bas vers d'où la douleur venait, j'ai vu que j'étais maintenant sans mes chaussures. Mes chaussures s'étaient dégagées de façon ou d'autre de mes pieds quelque part entre le décollage et l'atterrissage.

Ainsi j'ai recueilli les deux chaussures qui étaient environ 20 pieds de l'un l'autre et ai fait ma manière de nouveau au côté de la route. Les gens me hurlaient demandant si j'étais bien. J'ai essayé de répondre mais j'étais toujours un peu shocker. Quand je me suis levé vers le haut de la petite falaise, j'ai finalement dit que « je suis bien ». Les regards choqués sur les visages des spectateurs m'ont incité à penser que ce doit avoir été tout à fait un spectacle. Un homme que scie ce qui s'est produite appelé l'ambulance et dit m'à s'asseoir qu'elle était la meilleure chose a faire ne pas se déplacer trop. Ainsi je me suis assis, ai mis mes chaussures, et ai inspecté les dommages. Ma jambe était sanglants et douloureux mais non terribles. Je pouvais marche relativement bien bien que j'aie été alot boitant. J'ai enlevé ma veste de Joe Rocket, mes gants, et ma casque. Remercier Dieu de cette équipement que mon corps supérieur n'avait soutenu aucun dommage. Quelques jours plus tôt, j'allais acheter le pantalon de Joe Rocket, mais le directeur ne me les donnerait pas pour le prix que j'étais disposé à payer (différence $30 que ce qu'il a offert). Pour $30, j'aurais évité probablement ce mal que j'ai maintenant et une paire de jeans ruinée qui ont été déchirés dans l'accident.

Quant à mon bike, un couple d'autres motocyclistes qui se sont arrêtés le long de la route m'avait aidé à la sortir du buisson et sur le côté de la route. Pour ce qui s'était produit, il était dans la forme très bonne. Le chef de mon groupe l'avait pris à travers la route pour voir si elle était conduisable et la croire ou pas, il était. Hormis les phares étant tordus, mon fairing avant fendu dans beaucoup de morceaux, et le fairing du côté droit rayé et manquant le clignotant. Je suspecte qu'il me coûte environ $2000 à $2500 pour le réparer tout et ce sera de retour dans l'action. Et me croire, il sera de retour ! J'aime faire la moto et ceci ne m'arrêtera pas de continuer. En fait, après que les infirmiers m'aient donne du soin, j'ai refusé leur suggestion pour me transporter à l'hôpital et ai sauté sur mon bike pour retourner à la maison. Deux et une moitié d'heures plus tard et un certain fluide de radiateur moins (fuyant de quelque part), j'étais à la maison et mon bike était dans un état triste dans le garage.

Quant à moi, ma jambe est meurtrie et coupee, ma cheville peut être foulée, et mon poignet est meurtri. Tout ceci, et je suis allés travailler cette nuit jusqu'à 2am, retourné à la maison et pouvais encore avoir le sexe malgres je ne pouvait pas manipuler les courbes aussi bien ; )

Soyez attentive, porter votre linge securitaire, et continuer de rouler.

So I just had my first motorcycle accident and wanted to share my experience with some of you.

I was on my way back home from an awesome day riding in the Mont Tremblant area with some new friends. It was what was considered an RS (ride sportive) and would even be labelled as an RE (ride extreme) for many people. The curves were abundant and the fun was indescribable. The day seemed to flash by as we did the roads over and over again, practically kneedragging through every corner. Nevertheless, the day had to end sometime as I had work later on and we had to stop to rest some time.

We decided to take one of two ways back home...obviously we chose the fun way with more curves. I was following a friend along a nice country road and we were moving at surprisingly legal speed. I guess by this time of the day we had exhausted most of our energy. As we came down a little hill, there was a van moving at a slower rate than we were. The leader passed the van in a normal maneuvre and I soon followed his lead. The hill slowly began to slope back upward and I made my move to return to the lane I was in. As I came back in to the lane facing a direction slightly toward the road's shoulder, the hill came to a peak and there was a sudden left turn. At this point, the nose of my bike was facing the shoulder and I attempted to abruptly change direction to get back on track. I had little time to react and may have tensed-up. I saw the gravel on the side of the road followed by tall, overgrown grass, and finally a wooded area about 30 feet after that. I made a decision to try to slow it down into the grass and worst come to worst, into the forest. Well as luck would have it, slowing in the grass was impossible and I headed straight for the forest. I picked my general direction between two medium sized trees and hoped for the best. Too bad my hopes didn't come true...

As I got to the forested area, the terrain dropped 10 feet straight down. At around 60km/h, that meant I continued on my path in mid-air. Whoever said a sport bike could not go off-road was wrong! I went through two pine trees in the air and then slammed into the ground on both wheels. Naturally, the impact sent my suspension to the bottom which consequently rebounded with the same force. At this point, I was ejected from the seat and found myself flying through the air. When I hit the ground, instinct had me rolling over and over and at one point, I looked up and saw the bike directly above me. I thought I was going to get crushed. In little more than a blink of an eye, it was all over and I was looking down at the ground on my hands and knees. Slowly, I made my way to my feet and realized that I was in fairly good shape. I could walk, I didn't feel pain anywhere on my upper body but my leg was hurting. Looking down toward where the pain was coming from, I saw that I was now without any footwear. My shoes had somehow come off of my feet somewhere between take-off and landing.

So I gathered both shoes that were about 20 feet apart from each other and made my way back to the side of the road. People were yelling asking me if I was ok. I tried to respond but I was still a little shook up. When I climbed up the little cliff, I finally said "I'm ok". The shocked looks on the faces of the onlookers made me think that It must have been quite a spectacle. A man that saw what happened called the ambulance and told me to sit down that it was best I don't move too much. So I sat down, put on my shoes, and inspected the injury. It was bloody and painful but not terrible. I could walk relatively well although I was limping alot. I took off my trusty Joe Rocket jacket, my MotoGP style gloves with carbon fiber knuckle and finger guards, and my helmet. Thank god for that equipment cause my upper body had sustained no damage. A few days earlier, I was going to buy Joe Rocket pants but did not because the manager would not give them to me for the price I was willing to pay ($30 difference than what he offered). For thirty bucks, I probably would have avoided this limp I have now and a ruined pair of jeans that were torn in the crash.

As for my bike, a couple of other bikers that stopped along the road had helped me get it out of the bush and onto the side of the road. For what had happened, it was in pretty good shape. The leader of my group had taken it up and down the road to see if it was driveable and believe it or not, it was. Aside from the headlights being crooked, my front fairing cracked into many pieces, and the right side fairing scratched and missing the turn signal, that was it. I suspect it will cost me about $2000 to $2500 to repair it all and it will be back in action. And believe me, it will be back! I love biking and this will not stop me continuing. In fact, after the paramedics patched me up, I refused their suggestion to transport me to the hospital and jumped on my bike to head home. Two and a half hours later and some radiator fluid less (leaking from somewhere), I was home and the bike was in a sad state in the garage.

As for me, my leg is severly bruised and gashed, my ankle may be sprained, and my wrist is bruised. All this, and I went to work that night until 2am, returned home and was still able to have sex that same night however, I was not able to handle the curves as well ; )

I'm ok, thank you for asking. Happened on the way back home around 17:45. After the ambulance fixed me up, I got on my bike and rode it back home

Today, I am fine but my leg is very soar, has a big gash and a big bruise. My ankle may be sprained but I haven't been to the hospital to check yet.

You ride home was alright without the clutch?

Hope to ride with you guys again soon...maybe not this season though!

Ok... The good thing is : You're alive and in one piece
The bads things are the broken parts... But, it's only metal and plastic so don't bother, you'll repair it soon...

Hé man que tu m'as fait peur quand j't'ai vu étendu sur l'accotement. On craint toujours le pire en espérant le mieux...

Par chance (et un certain control dans les circonstances !), t'es rentré dans le bois sans frapper aucun arbre solide. Plutôt surprenant quand on sait que le bike était à plus de 50-75' dans le bois et que la forêt était assez dense !

Une courbe traitre qu'on voit mal puisque dans le haut d'un faux plat qui monte et qui redescend en tournant, un peu off-banking en plus. Une courbe très surprenante quand on ne la connait pas...

J'crois que tu pourras réussir à remettre ton bike en bon état pour pas si cher avec e-bay et du used.

Vrrrraiment désolé pour toi mec et trèss chanceux malgré tout..

I did write ride! I thought it would be faster to write in English then use the translator to have it french to everyone to read. As long as people can get the basics, it's fine but I guess this was not that good!
