TURN 2 INTRODUCES ARC LEVEL 2 AND FEMALE INSTRUCTORS


Hamilton, ON – March 12, 2008 – For 2008, Turn 2 Sportbike Rentals’ focus on rider education has expanded with the introduction of the Advanced Riding Course (ARC) Level 2, and is proud to be the first school in Canada to offer female instructors.

ARC Level 2 is designed for riders that are ready to 'step it up a notch' on the track. The newly established program will concentrate on advanced riding and racing techniques, as well as bike setup and suspension tuning.

Key elements of ARC Level 2 will touch on motorcycle geometry, suspension dynamics and function. Turn 2 techs will establish baseline settings for the students’ own bikes or one of the Suzuki rental bikes, and will then teach riders the nature of these adjustments and how to do it themselves.

“Level 2 will teach riders how to feel the bike underneath them, interpret feedback, and adjust suspension and geometry accordingly” said Turn 2 owner, George Budacki.

“We are the first riding school in Canada to offer a 'Hands On' course component to our newly established training program. We’re excited to offer other training tools in ARC Level 2 such as on-board video and GPS data acquisition with lap timing, which will assist riders in shaving seconds off their lap times, and increase confidence in themselves as well as the machine” he added.

Another Canadian first for Turn 2’s ARC is the addition of female instructors; Genevieve Lesieur (Quebec, CAN), Karen Grujic (Ontario, CAN) and Natalie Catherine Provost (Quebec, CAN).

'Controlled track riding is a growing phenonenom, and we've been witness to the steady growth of female presence in the sport. Its fabulous seeing the girls participate! We feel that having the option to be trained by an experienced female racer available to other female riders is something that will only benefit the sport and strengthen the motorcycle community, and also enourage new female riders to come out to the track' Budacki said.

In addition to sharing their knowledge of riding technique with ARC students, Lesieur, Grujic and Provost will also be competing in the Pro Honda Oils Womens Cup series, the RACE Regional series as well as the Parts Canada Superbike Championship series.

Turn 2 proudly continues its association with Suzuki Canada once again offering the 2007 GSXR600 and SV650S as the official motorcycles of Turn 2’s Advanced Riding Course. All ARC Level 1 and 2 packages include exceptional riding gear from Motovan Corporation including Zox helmets, Teknic leathers and Knox back protectors.

Turn 2 will be holding ARC Level 1 and 2 dates at Calabogie Motorsports Park, Mosport International Raceway, and Shannonville Motorsports Park. Preliminary ARC dates are posted on the newly updated Turn 2 website: TURN2 . Visit often for the most current news and updates.

TURN2 ET GENEVIÈVE LESIEUR
L'école de pilotage Turn2/ARC annonçait la semaine dernière qu'elle ajoutait trois femmes pilotes à son équipe d'instructeurs, dont Geneviève Lesieur. Que ce soit pour une initiation à la piste ou à des techniques avancées, elle aura donc l'occasion de partager ses connaissances avec des gens qui, tout comme elle, sont passionnés de moto et de la piste. Les cours se donneront à Mosport, Shannonville et Calabogie, en Ontario.

« C'est évidemment avec grand enthousiasme que j'ai accepté de me joindre à l'équipe de Turn2, ayant moi-même suivi plusieurs cours pour peaufiner ma technique. Avec l'expérience acquise ces dernières années, si je peux donner plus de confiance ou la piqûre de la piste à quelques motocyclistes, ce sera mission accomplie. Sans oublier qu'en plus d'ajouter du temps de piste à mon horaire, l'école est tout équipée en Suzuki!

Turn2 est l'une des premières écoles au Canada à engager des femmes instructeurs. Je crois que cela permettra à certaines intimidées par la piste de se lancer. Je leur suis très reconnaissante de cette opportunité. »
