Par défaut Voici ma nouvelle acquisition!

Je vais écrire en anglais parce que je ne m'exprime pas bien en francais.

I wanted to share pictures with you all of my new bike that I purchased on April 30th. I waited until now because I had purchased some accessories that only were mounted to the bike recently.

So here it is... I decided on a BMW F800s for several reasons, the main one being that it came highly recommended by a friend (editor in chief of Cycle Canada). I was originally looking at the Ducati S2R, but because I do a lot of highway riding, I didn't like the fact that I was so exposed to the wind. Whereas the BMW has some protection. Other reasons being:
- Long-term reliability
- Very low seat height
- single-side swing arm with belt-drive (no need to oil chain, 60,000km's before servicing belt)

I bought the bike through Moto-Internationale. I had a very good experience with the sales person, André, who was very helpful and fun through the whole process. I ordered the Extra-low version of the bike which comes with a shorter rear suspension, and an extra low seat, bringing the height of the seat to 29.5". I also got optional clear lights, on-board computer, and the solo-seat. I had seen pictures on the internet of the F800s with an aftermarket fairing made by AC Schnitzer, which made me decide on the S over the ST. Had it not been for the AC Schnitzer fairing, I would have purchased the ST model, or looked elsewhere since I didn't like the look of the S model without the full fairing.

So here is a picture of the bike the day I brought it home....

I next installed some protection (sliders) for the bike, which I ordered from f800depot.com

Frame sliders:

Fork sliders:

and Final drive slider:

I ordered the AC Schnitzer fairing through the local importer in Montreal, called Autobahn8 on Cote-De-Liesse. Great service from them as well! Highly recommended. It arrived the day after I got my bike, but I sent it to Slimco to get painted. Slimco did a great job of matching the paint. I received the fairing back from him last week, here's how it looks on the bike!

I love the bike! I'm very happy with my choice, and loving every minute of riding it.

Here's a picture of both my bikes that I now own. Unless I sell the Kawasaki by the end of this month, I will most probably keep it for trackdays.

Wowzers, really good looking, I heard a lot of good comments on the new F800 serie, I would go BMW for sport touring without a doubt, but if they release a lightweight supermoto I'll be rushing to the dealer. As for reliability, they are made to last as much as a car. The BMW well engineered ergonomics helps a lot for the long haul.
They are expensive bikes, but when you ride one you understand what you paid for.
Happy riding

Edit : get a fatter chain and lock, a cheap pair of chain cutter will cut this one like butter

Nice choice!! Just curious but how expensive are the AC Schnitzer fairing? Are they painted or is it an extra?
