sprockets

I have a 97 ZX-9 and I want to change the chain and sprockets so it feels easier to lift.(500 lbs fat pig LOL) I have a 16 teeth and 44 in the back, if i go 15 and 45 will that be too much or can i go more, but i don't want to be in 6th gear at 5000 rpm doing 120km either tks.

The relation is strictly mechanical. Just tell what your RPM is at a given speed and your "modified" RPM can easily be calculated.
