Curious
Will a bike still run on 2 cylinders if the ignition box is no good and is there a way to test the box to see if it really is faulty

maybe one of your coils
yes, it will work on two cylinders... if one of your two coils is dead. on the other hand if it is your ignition box that is faulty you should not be able to start your engine at all (the ignition box usually feeds the coils for the spark plug ). You check the coil with an ohmmeter.If you have a reading between the two entry pins it should be ok but not necessarely,if it shows infinity(no contuniuty at all) that is your problem...
