I do my own oil changes on my Z1000 and the last two that I've done I've been forced to leave the old filter on the bike. I cant turn the damn thing. I've tried to use the oil filter clamps (like the ones they use for cars) but they are all too big for the bike filter.
Any suggestions ? |

I had that problem too, Diablo lend me a tool you put at the end of a wrachet and it worked. You can get a cheap plastic one at Canadian tire for 5$. Some will suggest to pass a screwdriver through and than rotate the screwdriver, the problem with that is the filter might tear in two and now you're really screwed.

fizzer,
or use rubber gloves, and make sure not to overtight the new one. The last filter has been a bit harder to remove on my Z but I managed to do it w/ the rubber tool (boa constrictor).. Syd |

The filter tool is hard to find that small (already tried).
....I thought about those rubber strap/clamps they sell at Canadian Tire. as far as the screwdriver goes, what do you do ? Do you just poke a screwdriver right through the middle of it ? |
