Stand problem (Z1000)

My stand holds the bike almost straight up the result being I dropped it yesterday while washing it. All it took was a little leaning on it and it fell over. i always have to be careful where I park or it might tip over.

Is this a common Z problem, or can the stand be adjusted so the bike leans more on it.

Help before more damage

fizzer,
is the floor straight horizontal ? I haven't had any issues with the side stand on my Z. Are you sure your stand is completely deployed ?

Hope you haven't broken anything on the bike when it dropped.

fizzer, that's strange, did you lower the bike ? Mine is fine, like Syd's.

Mine is fine as well.I dont have any issues with the sidestand ,actually it leans quite alot it would take a mighty shove to push it over.

Thanks guys. But my stand is always fully deployed and I have the problem no matter where I park. I always have to try to put the stand down in a dent in the sidewalk so its lower than the rest of the bike.

What i love a bout the Z is that all I have to show for the fall is two small scratches, one on the exhaust and the other on the engine cover which has that body colored plastic piece on it.

Can the stand be adjusted at all ? help !

Well you could always bend it a little. Try taking it off and heating it and bending it. You can try to do this on the bike as well but I don't think putting a torch close to a bike to bend a stand is a good idea, I would take it off.

I had the same problem when I lowered my R6 the only thing to do is to have
the stand cut and welled back on the lower plate.(the plate that sits on the ground)
