choke problem

everytime i warm up my bike with the choke on, as soon as i take off the choke the bike dies, and the only way to get it back on is to start it with the choke off and the throttle opened...

any1 know wut could be the problem here????

bike is a 98 zx7r, brought it to Deshaies Motosport on st. michel for a tune-up... they changed my spark plugs, clean the carbs and intake...

the 1 problem i know it has is a leaky head gasket (which is on back order) and it will be fixed soon.

Try to adjust your idle at a higher RPM, maybe it will help.

do you just crank the choke off fast?

just do it a bit slower.

Your idle must be in the range specified in thw owner book..that's for sure.

i've tryed both taking the choke off slowly and fast and it still don't stay on

Well if you have a bad head gasket, it is very possible that this is causing the problem. I would not even run the bike with a bad head gasket because prestone and oil could mix and really mess up your engine and you can even bend valves if one cylinder fills up with prestone so just wait to get the head gasket fixed and then you will se if that is the real problem

ouch i have been riding it these past few days.. hope i didn't mess it up..

Running an engine with a blown head gasket is never a good thing. Stop riding it till you get it fixed.
